In the jungle, the mighty jungle
The lion sleeps tonight

In the jungle, the quiet jungle

The lion sleeps tonight."

How can I forget a movie which had been watched by my unico hijo for a zillion times? The movie THE LION KING to me is a classic favorite of numerous kids and even adults alike. For more than a year, my son had watched it daily , more often than not, having able to have watched it 2 times in a day. There had even been times it would be 3 x in a day with the first 2 watched in a row! Oh let's just say I truly lost count. I clearly recall how my son would call me and say "Mom, it's Timon..and Pumbaaaaaaaaaah..and Simba..." as he jumps with excitement on his uncle's bed. Soon right after, he goes along with his favorite lines in the movie he had memorized. One among his many favorites that he often would say is this line from Scar: "Run away, Simba. Run away and never return!" Hearing those lines were my daily and nightly regales as it was served by my son to no end, ha-ha. I was, needless to say, enthused. The smiles the movie had elicited from him were and are still just so precious, I can fondly state.

"The Lion Sleeps Tonight" is one of the soundtracks of the movie "The Lion King" by Walt Disney. And if someone would be piqued to ask me if I had watched the movie along with my son (who was then barely 2 years old, he is now 14) the same number of times he did, I would give a plausible excuse as" Oh that was what you call bonding time" in a composed manner.**blush-grin-blush** I might try to hide a red face expecting that my pretense would work. But it won't. That's because I have indeed loved the movie, embracing all the elements that made it a memorable and nostalgic one for me. The songs, particularly The Lion Sleeps Tonight, the characters ,specially that of Timon and Pumba not to mention the exchanges of witty banter between them, and Simba of course. And yes, the bonding times with my son, alright. The "a-weema-weh factor" which I refer to as awimbaweb whenever I sing it (Okay, okay, I used to sing it a lot of times B-E-F-O-R-E! Okay. Until now I do when I just feel like it.) takes much credit for my liking it by the way. THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT is just so good. LEKKER, actually! It just gives you that bounce and vibe no matter how peculiar you may sound singing "a-weema-weh" while you are in the comfort room. Oh that savanna tune with its distinct appeal is just so infectious, isn't it?

"A-weema-weh A-weema-weh A-weema-weh A-weema-weh

A-weema-weh A-weema-weh A-weema-weh A-weema-weh
A-weema-weh A-weema-weh A-weema-weh A-weemah-weh
A-weema-weh A-weema-weh A-weema-weh A-weemah-weh

In the jungle, the mighty jungle
The lion sleeps tonight
In the jungle, the quiet jungle
The lion sleeps tonight. "

Oh and hey? I think I must resign with my journal right now. My son is sleeping early tonight after a tired day from school. And I just need to check one more time if he is comfortably positioned.
